Deep Water Aquatic Therapy Course

Why Deep Water?Deep water (or suspended work in shoulder-deep water) can allow therapists to effectively address orthopaedic restrictions, neurological postural challenges, and athletic training during rehabilitation. This 4-hour course will explore the advantages of aquatic therapy and exercise in deep water / suspension, based on optimal use of hydrodynamic principles and current evidence.

Course ScheduleThis is a 4-hour course. We will start with the theory and explore some research. Course content will address which clients would benefit from working in suspension / deep water. Pool work will apply and practice techniques and protocols in the deep water. Case studies will provide guided practice to apply and progress deep water techniques.

Who would Benefit?The uses, advantages, and challenges of open kinetic chain movement will be practically explored. The course includes a review of case studies, detailed exercises and progressions.
